Well, anger management classes and therapy are garbage. They don't teach you anything you couldn't figure out for yourself. It's just another way the ';health care industry'; is ripping you off. It's part of the stupidifacation of society. You can't control the fact that you get angry, but you can keep things in perspective. Get angry, but don't let the expression be disproportional to what made you angry. Your idiot co-worker screw up the copier? Roll you eyes and utter ';moron'; under your breath and go find another one. No need to break the copier or piss in the coffee pot. Sure you can get annoyed that some jackazz cut you off, but no need to honk and follow that person. You girlfriend cheats on you? Get mad, put all her crap in a box and drop it off at her house, tell her she's a betch and should go to hell, but don't beat her up. There's usually no need to hit anyone unless they hit you. There's no need to yell unless they're deaf. Breaking things does not help, it just makes you have to go out and buy more or whatever you broke, and that'll make you mad. It's really more about a delayed reaction that you've considered before carrying it out.How can I control my anger without taking classes?
If you're serious about it...theres a book called Anger Busters 101. and theres a workbook too. My boyfriend had serious anger issues, and went to a therapist for it, shes the one who recommended this book. The change in him is amazing. It really turned his life around.
