imagine everyone nakedHow can i control my nerves during a class presentation?
When ever I have had to do a presentation I always try and feel as passionate about what I am saying as I can.
Look at the back of the class or the back of the room, just above the heads of the people sat there, and make sure you look at all areas of the room - moving your head left to right, to make it seem you are addressing all people in the room. How can i control my nerves during a class presentation?
Try a herbal drop called Bach Remedy Rescue it help calm you down with a few drops on the tongue
look around and picture everyone wit no clothes on-it works u cannot be intimidated by saggy bits
green works yo
First things first, make sure you know your subject matter inside out. That way you can relax about remembering things and maybe even have a bit of fun with the presentation.
Secondly, remember you are presenting to a group of your peers and teachers. Everyone wants you to do well, noone's there to trip you up. This isn't a business presentation, so don't treat it like one. Don't be too formal, be concise, and try not to read straight from a script.
I did a presentation while I was at uni which was part of my final masters examination. EVERYTHING went wrong that day, from powerpoint not saving to my car not starting. When I got to the presentation, I was so manic that I kept forgetting to change my slides. In the end, I abandoned the technology, took a deep breath, and concentrated on what I had to say. Though I dropped a few marks for use of materials, my content was so good and well-known that I aced it.
Chill out, know your stuff, enjoy it and laugh in the face of disaster. As long as you get your point across, that's all that matters.
Wow......I actually met someone who has the same problem as me. Ok, first calm down, there is no need to be stressed out. When you start to present think before you speak, this sounds simple but it really helps me out a lot. And lastly remember everyone there is supportive of you, though some ppl might be douchebags.
Take a few deep breaths and run through what your going to say. If you ill prepared that will make you more nervous.
Remeber, your not a lecturer, just a student giving a presentation. Try and sound confident and entusiatic. Dont speak too fast or slow. Speak in a clear voice, maintian eye cntact and ask if anyone has any questions.
It should be plain sailing.
i always practice what i'm going to say in my head over and over and over until i'm comfortable with what i'm talking about... then focus in on a few familiar faces in the crowd and just pretend you're having a casual conversation with them, like you're talking to a friend or something... just have fun with it, try not to read off notes or anything because that'll only tense you up even more...
Xanax
Get blind, stinking drunk. It works for me.
I know alot of people are giving you some ';great tips'; but to be honest I have tried them and they DON'T work!!!
I am getting better at it that Thank God. What I found works is practise speaking before the mirror and speak loudly and clearly. By the time you get through most of it you'll be calm.
Try it........hope it works for you
practice infront of friends and family
laugh about it if you do anything wrong afterwards
if you do anything wrong pretend you didn't
dont hold paper, if you shake it will be obvious and make you more self conscious
%26amp;%26amp;%26amp;%26amp;
imagine them NAKED!
also, remember most people feel like this
its just something youve got to do
Be confident enough about your presentation/memorizing your speech that you can say it 3 times fast with your eyes closed (not really). Practice in front of a mirror, or with a friend but get it memorized and bring some cue cards just to guide you along.
Practice what you want to say. It feels odd at first - talking to an empty room, but it helps. It helps you to get used to the sound of your own voice, you get to try out the words - and reject the ones that trip you up. It helps with timing - though you will speak more quickly when stressed.
When you present have some water with you. You will need this to moisten the throat, which gets dry when under stress. It also gives you a chance for a natural break in speaking, which everyone will understand (why has she stopped, oh, she's having a drink). Breath - deep breaths, but nothing too theatrical (until the end).
You can also add a bit of ';oddness';. What's it about? Can the subject be supported by some visual aid? If it's Eng. Lit, then is there some character that you can put up on a slide. If it's finance, some image of a bank (Northern Rock or otherwise) - maybe use a big heap of chocolate money (available from everywhere right now).
It gets better with practice.
Take a deep breath before you go up, and definitely practice a few times at home before you give it. That way you have a better idea of what you are doing. Plus remember everyone else is just as nervous as you.
Everyone is on your side. They all sympathise you know everyone.
Deep breath. Feel the tension leave you body as you exhale, and remember that you DO know your stuff.
I find focussing on individuals (different) throughout, not only gets the presentation across more readily, it helps break up the perceived mass of faces
take a deep breath,count to ten(to yorself), and speak slowly but loud enough for everyone to hear.If you get nervous again,stop at the end of the next sentence ,take a deep breathe again,and count to 10 to yourself.The most important thing is to be understood and not ';flying';
take a deep breath before starting your presentation.
convert your fear into positive energy by saying to yourself'; this will be one of the best presentations i have ever done';
the best way is to be prepared and know your subject, recognize that you are only talking to people and you do it all the time and always prepare your opening statement.
Drink an Energy drink 30 minutes before
Breath through your mouth (deep stomache inhales)
Don't try to over stretch your face expression (fake smileing)
Remeber...The body shows what the mind is thinking.
and lastly FOCUS on your TOPIC not the audience
i can do it by trying to look happy, but my voice starts to crack and that gives me out
What works for me is knowing that I am doing it for myself - not because I want to get a good grade but to show that I know what I am talking about. Just be confident in yourself and try not to think about what grade you might get.
remember one thing: they can't eat you
1) Know that all the other students have to go through this too
and that millions of people have already done this too and lived. Time for YOU to unlock your hidden Super-STAR talent.
2) Try to shift your eyes from nice person to nice person with each breath and pretend to be talking to just one likable person at a time. Exude confidence and display true mastery and interest in your material.
Honestly nobody will kill you or laugh at you.
i was like that last week best tip i could give pretend your confident about it. tell your mates you dont care and your not a bit nervous then when your up there ya just act. i was so scared but when nobody was expectin me. it was just more relaxed!!
Bach Rescue Remedy.
youll be fine - being nervous is good, it means its important to you to get it right - just be well prepared
Hold a paperclip....
The electrons throughout your body will circulate through the paperclip and make you feel relaxed
Picture everyone naked...
Pretend that no one is paying attention to you and so it doesn't matter what you do or say. You are just up there talking!
