If we believe that our system of justice is so virtuous that it ought to be universal--as our current president has implied by dreaming of democritizing the Middle East--then non-citizens ought to be granted the same rights as American Citizen when judged by Americans.
He says this, but he doesn't do it. He sets up a separate category but it's a self-contradictory measure.
';Unlawful enemy combatants'; is a stupid phrase. Laws in war? Isn't all fair in love and war? What such categories attempt to do is establish ground rules for one side to win.
