Who is usually interested in evolving the Political class into a unit of control for the betterment of the US?

Typically it is the independent agencies that you refer to.





Today's politicians are more for their own gain at the expense of others if need be.





Congress has become a forum for special interests, and so has the presidency; the executive branch has been expanding its powers at the expense of Congress and the Courts. Same with the Pentagon, which expands its power displacing others like the State Department.





In the end, I think it will be have the public that will have to do that - and lets hope people realize before its too late for the US. Or else the US will likely face bankruptcy someday.
