When it comes to CC, mages (poly) and HUNTERS (ice trap).





IT doesnt matter if the mage is frost spec, and its been proven time and time again a fire mage will do more dmg in PvE. however frost does rule for PvP.





Warlock is good CC, with banish and chain fearing. However, fear is too unpredictable and doesnt last very long anymore (due to dimishing returns). And you'll need lots of room to ever fear. number one rule in instances, NO FEAR, you dont want to fear a target and accident pull something else leading to a wipe.





So ultimately it really depends, I'd take a lock over a mage for mechanar. but say...slave pens, i'd want a mage/hunter.Which World of Warcraft class has the most crowd control?
Warlock with succubus out can fear and seduce, probably that is the most crowd control.
Use a mage that is ice spec and you will have great cc as you can slow and freeze then pump massive dps its amazing hope this helped.

In my opinion, i prefer to have a mage in my party for CC(crowd control), because mages can keep on spamming polymorph, quickly and not miss out on too much dps. Rogues also have very good CC with sap, but in order to lay another sap down, they have to be stealthed, and im not sure they can stealth once they are in combat, but what do i know i am just a hunter :)
